Ambassador Kairat Umarov was appointed to the post of the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the UN

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed Kairat Umarov to the post of the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, the presidential press-service reported Jan. 4.

Earlier Kairat Umarov served as Kazakhstan’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the U.S.

Previous permanent representative of Kazakhstan to the UN Kairat Abdrakhmanov was relieved from this post and appointed to the post of Foreign Minister in late December.
