Kazakhstan welcomes the continuation of constructive 'Central Asia plus Japan' Dialogue - Kazakh FM

ASTANA. November 10. KAZINFORM The 4th Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of "Central Asia plus Japan" Dialogue countries' has been held today, November 10, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"The relations between Japan and Central Asian countries over the 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations have been developing dynamically in all directions," Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov said at a joint press conference after the meeting.

"In the upcoming period, the forum initiated by the Japanese side can make a real contribution to stability in the region and the development of economic, trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Kazakhstan welcomes the continuation of the constructive dialogue "Central Asia plus Japan", which marks the access to a higher level of relations between Japan and the countries of Central Asia.

This mechanism of consultation is important for each of the Central Asian countries to build partnership with Japan, and to strengthen multilateral cooperation in the region.

"I would like to emphasize that the most promising, in our opinion, are the following areas of cooperation: strengthening public administration, economic growth, strengthening private sector, small and medium business in Central Asia, development of intra-regional trade, development of transit-transport potential of the region, rational use and management of water and energy resources, improvement of environment in the region, introduction of new energy-saving technologies and renewable energy sources.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the Japanese side for the organization of the meeting and expressed confidence that the cooperation of the Central Asian countries and Japan will be successful," Mr. Idrissov said in his speech.
