Central Objective
With its vast oil and natural reserves, Kazakhstan has the potential to become one of the world’s largest oil producers and exporters within the next decade. Exports of these resources represent a valuable asset to Kazakhstan’s economic development. Yet they are also become a means of achieving its true goal: to become a modern, high-tech, globally integrated economy. This objective was formally established as the central focus of the National Strategy in 1998 and will remain so through 2030. In addition, the State Industrialization and Innovation Program will support this endeavor from 2003 to 2015.
